The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.
Board members present: Supervisors Sandberg, Varichak, Lucas, Clerk Schanche, Deputy Clerk Sandys,
Treasurer Samsa.
The minutes of the January meeting and the Special Meeting of January 29, 2024 were read and approved by a motion by Varichak, second by Lucas.
Treasurers Report
The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read on motion by Lucas, second by Varichak.
A transfer of $50,000 from general savings to general checking as approved by motion by Lucas, second by Varichak, motion carried.
Fire Report
There were no fire or EMS calls in January.
Two new firefighters have completed training. Total membership is 20.
Matt Lucas was elected as Assistant Chief.
There was a discussion on firefighter annual medical exams.
Old Business
The Sturgeon Chain of Lakes Water Quality Summary was presented.
New Business
The use of the rec site parking lot for the fishing tournament on June 11 th from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm was approved by motion by Varichak, second by Lucas, motion carried.
After discussion, a motion was made by Varichak, second by Lucas to hire Paula Kangas as the Summer Rec Director, Emma Kangas and Isabelle King as Summer Rec Workers, motion carried.
The correspondence was read.
Motion by Varichak, second by Lucas to approve the bills, motion carried.
