Minutes of the August 14, 2024 Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:01 pm.

Board members present: Supervisors Reini, Varichak, Lucas, Clerk Schanche, Deputy Clerk Sandys, Treasurer Samsa.

The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved by a motion by Varichak, second by Reini, motion carried.

Treasurers Report

The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read with motion by Reini, second by Varichak, motion carried

Fire Report

There was 1 fire call and 6 EMS calls in July

Received $400 in donations to the fire department.

Roads

Snake Trail problem trees have been removed.

Sellars Road and Boldt Road culverts will need to be replaced soon.

Recreation Report

Program is done for the year. It was a total success.

Old Business

Received 4 quotes to remove the tree on Libke Road:

Jerulle Construction                       $800

Dillon Samsa                         $1100

Calgaro Tree Service                        $1833.87

Gary/Dan Koski                       $650

Motion made by Varichak, second by Reini to accept the quote from Gary/Dan Koski. They will be contacted to submit the certificate of insurance and schedule. PJ & Tim will assist with traffic control.

Jim received responses from Commissioner McDonald, Sheriff Ramsey, and Dave Fink from Environmental Services in regards to the ill repair at 12824 North Bay Trail. No action has been taken.

New Business

The Clerk and Supervisor Reini have received complaints about the RV Park project at Riverside Inn.

According to the CUP application, the entrance was to be off Hwy 5. It is now off Libke Road.

The stormwater drainage from the north side of Libke Road is now stopped, the existing culvert is full.

It previously had drained to the Sturgeon River prior to construction.

The Clerk was directed to contact the County Planning & Development of the concerns.

After discussion, a motion was made by Reini, second by Varichak to increase the yearly pension to $1100 per years of service for the Statewide Volunteer Firefighter Plan. Motion carried.

The correspondence was read.

Motion by Varichak, second by Reini to approve the bills, motion carried.

Motion by Varichak, second by Reini to adjourn at 8:12. Motion carried.
