The goal of the Celebrate Side Lake Committee is to provide safe and well-organized, family event for the Side Lake Community. When the events are delayed, postponed, or canceled due to inclement weather, the following factors influence the Celebrate Side Lake Committees’ decision:
Inclement Weather:
Rain does not hinder the event.
If storms with lightning occur, it creates an unsafe environment, not only for the participants, but also the vendors. The Celebrate Side Lake Committee will delay the start of the event until there is a safe period without lightening before the committee will consider the start of the event. If storms with lightning continue, the event will be canceled.
The Celebrate Side Lake Event will be held rain or shine. However, due to weather, the Celebrate Side Lake Committee has the authority, in conjunction with the Town of French Fire/EMS Department and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, to cancel the event due to inclement weather.
For the most up-to-date information about our events due to questionable weather, please go to our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/192755177499257/, the Side Lake MN Facebook page, or the Side Lake website at Sidelake.org
*If the event is delayed, postponed, or canceled due inclement weather, all vendors, food trucks, and games registered before July 25th will be contacted via text message or email*
The Celebrate Side Lake Committee is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all who partake in our events.
