The Side Lake Firecracker 5k and Side Lake Fourth of July Parade committees have met and begun their plans for this year’s 2022 Fourth of July events! We are excited to be coming back after a two-year hiatus! Our first meetings were held on Monday, May 16th. Many wonderful ideas were shared, but we are in need of your help!
Side Lake’s Fourth of July Parade
The parade will take place on Monday July 4th . Lineup will begin at 9:00 a.m., and road closures along the parade route will start at 9:30 a.m. The parade will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. We will enjoy the same parade route as in previous years. Applications for parade entry will be located at CC Camp, Side Lake Store, and the Post Office, or you can download the form here. Please return completed applications back to any of these locations by Sunday, July 3rd. If you happen to miss preregistration, we will be having same-day registration at the parade lineup. Registration will close at 9:30 a.m. on July 4th. The registration table will be located at the corner of Rudstrom Road and Sturgeon Road.
This year, we are asking for your input on a variety of parade items. It’s going to be hard to top our Veterans theme from 2019! So, if you have any thoughts on a theme for our parade, let us know! We are also asking for Grand Marshall nominations. If you know of someone who would be the perfect fit, we would like you to provide the name and a short summary of whom you feel should lead our parade route this year! Side Lake’s Firecracker 5K
We have tentative plans for the Firecracker 5k to take place on Saturday, July 2nd. We have a couple of last minute details that have to be finalized yet, but we are diligently working to continue this great event!
